Everyone, meet Alex!

Alex is an adorable medium sized jindo mix boy who has been waiting behind shelter kennel bars fsince 2022. He was admitted as an older puppy and hasn’t had a chance to experience the world outside of the shelter. He is a very shy but gentle soul who just melts into the arms of any loving human who will give him the patience and gentleness (and yummy treats) that he so longs for~

Here is what one of our regular volunteers shared after their recent walk with Alex:
“With a shelter that has over 430 dogs, it’s hard to give that extra love to each one so you can only try and hope it’s making a small difference…Alex is timid and shy but once he becomes comfortable with you, he’ll trust you enough to let himself be handled and carried. Usually, I have to carry him out of his kennel but yesterday, he walked out by himself and after getting comfortable being outside, decided he felt confident enough to walk up the hill…however, he decided midway that walking back down and into his kennel was too much. He doesn’t try to back out of his collar but just lays down, pancake flat to the ground. When I walked over to urge him up, he lifted his body just enough so I can get my arms around. HE KNOWS I’LL CARRY HIM sooo if you’re looking for a couch potato, food motivated/ loving, good with other dogs but a bit of a scaredy cat, he would be perfect for your home!”

Alex is one of those doggies who truly needs a stable, peaceful, and loving home in order to feel comfortable coming out of his shell and showing the happy boy we know is hidden underneath! We are seeking an experienced adopter who can guide Alex in his adjustment to his new peaceful life. If you’d like to welcome Alex into your home and give him the gift of a lifetime, please send us a message and we would be happy to provide more information about the adoption process!

  • Bahavior with cat or children

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.

  • Cost of the adoption

YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

  • Vaccinations and spaying

All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
