Amber is a 15kg mixed breed girlie who came to our shelter in 2021. She has some really beautiful unique markings, and she may have jindo, shiba, or shepherd mixed in. Amber is a sweet and intelligent doggo who loves to come out for walkies and spend time outside with volunteers and with her kennelmate Joe. Amber gives lots of lovin’ to her humans in exchange for treats - her tail starts wagging like a helicopter when she sees yummy food around!
Here’s what some of our volunteers had to say about Amber:
“Here is Amber, a lovely mixed dog that is about mid-size. She is really smart, especially once she noticed the snacks alongside her kennel mate Joe. She learned how to sit for her snacks in 30 seconds, while Joe struggled for the whole 30 minutes Amber also was very comfortable with the human touch. She was also very relaxed with other dogs along the way, even though Joe was still clearly her best friend. I am sure she is a quick learner that will fit into any family.”
“Amber is an energetic and super treat-motivated puppy. It was easy to train her so I think she will be an easy dog for someone who is active. She does well with people! But she is a dominant type of dog so it is better if she goes to a home with other big dogs (after supervision) or to a home without other pets. But she is still young! I think with the right training and environment, she can learn to interact with other dogs better. Please show her some love~~~”
Unfortunately, the stress of shelter life has led Amber to chew on her own skin, causing the fur on her back legs to grow in strangely. Sweet Amber definitely needs a forever family soon so that she can get rid of some of her stress and experience the world as a safe, relaxing, loving place. If you would like to be Amber’s new best friend, send us an adoption application and we will tell you more about the adoption process!
