Meet Gongju of the Royal siblings! Gongju means “princess” in Korean, and her brother is named Wangja which means prince. These two royal cuties arrived at the shelter in 2022 as tiny little puppies without a mother in sight. They have since blossomed into adorable medium sized pointy-eared mixes with curly tails and cute freckley patterns on their faces! They both had bright pink noses when they were small, and as they grew their noses have gotten darker but still somewhat pinkish! Thanks to our Saturday puppy socialization volunteers, both Wangja and Gongju have had lots of experience and happy times with both humans and other doggies! These two pups adore hanging out with volunteers, and they are so ready to start their lives with a forever family to give all of their love to!

Gongju, like her brother, is an affectionate friendly pup! She loves to jump up on people to beg for cuddles and love with her curly tail wagging and her ears tilted all the way back! Gongju has some unique tan patterns on her face that make us wonder if one of their parents might have been a border collie!

Here's what one of our volunteers had to say about Gongju:

"Meet Gongju (Princess)! She’s an absolute sweetheart who is always happy to meet people and ask for a hug or scratch. She was happy our whole walk, frequently stopping to ask for some cuddles or a scratch. She was a bit of a Velcro, right by my side for most of the walk. I had to be a bit careful though as she would often be so close to me that I would trip over her! We made frequent stops where we would just sit there and have a moment for a cuddle or a well deserved scratch.
Gongju is quite friendly towards other dogs, but she wasn’t completely focused on them during our walk. She was more focused on the adventure we were on than the dogs we were with. In saying that, she did check up on some of her roommates that were a bit more nervous.
I would describe Gongju as more of a medium energy dog. She was quite active on the walk but I can see her settling down in an indoor environment. Gongju, the absolute sweetheart that she is, would make an amazing addition to someone’s home."

Our little princess is waiting for a forever home where she can be treated like the royalty she is, getting spoiled with fun and love for the rest of her life! Gongju gets along great with people and dogs, and would do well in most homes. If you would like to give Gongju a throne in your home, send us an adoption application and we will get you started with the adoption process!

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.

  • Cost of the adoption

YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

  • Vaccinations and spaying

All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
