Lai
Lai
Lai is calm and friendly with all types of dogs. Currently staying with two small canine companions, she prefers to sit quietly beside them, displaying no signs of resource guarding or aggression. Even when other dogs receive treats, she patiently waits her turn and enjoys her portion. Lai has a healthy appetite and loves treats.
When meeting someone for the first time, Lai initially prefers to keep her distance, carefully observing the person before approaching with curiosity. (watch out the video!) If she's unable to maintain distance, she remains calm without displaying aggression. She patiently waits while the person put on the leash or pets her. Despite her preference for distance, she doesn't jitter her body or make defensive gestures. Lai interacts well with young children, although adult attention is needed as she can be easily scared. She appears very smart and understands commands well. In the dog hotel where Lai is temporarily staying, she walks freely but promptly follows the command to "back home," sitting neatly in her cage with an elegant posture, crossing her legs and lifting her neck like a princess. 💕
Lai is very clean and doesn't have a marking habit. She prefers outdoor potty breaks but is happy to use designated pads when needed. While she cooperates during baths and medical procedures, she's not a fan of nail trims.
During leash walks, Lai remains close to the handler, paying attention to the pace every few steps. She doesn't pull on the leash and promptly responds to commands, adjusting her speed accordingly. However, Lai may become jittery in response to loud noises on the street. Although she walks well on a leash in calm environment, it's crucial to paying constant attention to her as she can be easily startled. In situations where she's startled, like encountering loud shouts or sudden ball play in the street, she may unexpectedly jump or spring away. Using a double-secure harness is crucial, as a regular harness might easily come off, posing a risk of her running away in fear.
Lai feels most secure in her cage, often pulling towards home after a walk to return to her familiar space. Therefore, the handler needs to pay extra attention to ensuring her security on the leash, especially in close proximity to her home. This behavior might stem from insecurity, and we hope it evolves as she establishes trust with her new family. We're seeking a family that can dedicate the necessary time for Lai and extra attention for her to develop trust and a sense of security.
Lai has a gentle spirit, much like the serene sunshine of spring. If you'd like to welcome Lai into your home, please send us an adoption application. Lai is waiting for you.

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.
-
Cost of the adoption
YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

Vaccinations and spaying
All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
