Lavender
Lavender
Lavender is a 12kg female mixed breed who arrived at the shelter at the beginning of this year along with her litter of SEVEN little newborn puppies! Lavender’s puppies - Mint, Curcuma, Fennel, Saffron, Cinnamon, Bay, and Pepper have all been named after various herbs and spices. Lavender has been a great mother to her little spice rack as they have grown up at the shelter from tiny nursing newborns to dapper young bully mixes like herself.
She has always been so gentle and allowed volunteers to come into her kennel and socialize with her puppies. Pretty Lavender also allows volunteers to pet her and pick her up, and when she sees people coming towards her kennel, she will get excited and start climbing her kennel walls like a monkey! She has been through so much despite being a young dog herself, and she is still overcoming the fears she has about the outside world. When taken out for a walk, Lavender is intimidated by the world outside of her kennel and doesn’t yet have the courage to walk very far outside of the shelter gates. We have no doubt that Lavender has the potential to be such a sweet, loving companion, but without a loving human who she can get used to and feel safe with, it will be more difficult for her to make progress and come out of her shell.
Here's what one of our volunteers had to say about Lavender:
"
Mama Lavender is a kind soul that came to the shelter with her babies. We don't know much about her past, but we know that she has always been very sweet to her pups. The shelter has not been easy on her, so she is now quite timid and gets anxious whenever she is away from her kennel. We hung out in front of the shelter gate where she waited for the moment to go back in. Although timid, Lavender is not aggressive in any way and she will tolerate touching and even playing with her pups. She will need a patient family who can show her how to interact with humans. Give her time, love and patience, and I am sure she will do really well."
Lavender could really use a forever home with a patient and loving family who can teach her about how fun and safe the world can be! If you’d like to give Lavender a second shot at a warm happy life, send us an adoption application and we will tell you more about the adoption process!

Bahavior with cat or children
Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.
-
Cost of the adoption
YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

Vaccinations and spaying
All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
