Everyone, meet Matteo! Matteo is a medium sized jindo mix boy who was admitted to the shelter in November 2023.  On top of his friendly personality, Matteo really stands out because of his unique coat coloring - the top layer of his coat is silvery, but he has a dark undercoat that reveals itself when we pet him.  This gives his coloration a really stunning appearance that we don’t typically see in jindo mixes!

Matteo is a friendly and enthusiastic boy who loves to explore and sniff around, but is also very loyal and treat motivated, following his human’s lead when asked.  After just 30 minutes with one of our volunteers, he was obediently sitting and making eye contact in exchange for treats! His tail wags adorably at a million miles a minute when he is feeling affectionate or expecting some treats.

He also gets along very well with his roommate, who is also a jindo mix.  Matteo definitely has that classic jindo prey drive and keen eyesight, which means he gets quite excited when he sees other animals such as deer or other dogs passing by in the distance.  However, once he gets up close to his target and realizes it is just another dog like him, he isn’t reactive and mostly loses interest. Plus, with his good focus and food motivation, a little bit of consistent training would go such a long way with him!

Matteo is a handsome sweetheart with his whole future ahead of him! We think he would do great in most homes where he can get daily exercise and mental stimulation, and of course the cuddles and treats! If you’d like to show Matteo what a loving home and family can feel like, send us a message and we will tell you more about the adoption process!

  • Bahavior with cat or children

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.

  • Cost of the adoption

YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

  • Vaccinations and spaying

All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
