Mona arrived at our shelter in June 2017 alongside her brother, Marley. She has spent most of her life here and is now one of our cherished long-term residents. Although her brother found a home, Mona is still waiting for her forever family, and she truly deserves one.

Mona is calm and friendly, showing kindness to dogs of all sizes. She remains unruffled even in the company of more energetic dogs, standing gently next to them. She's gentle with small to large dogs, all size, maintaining a calm demeanor.

Mona enjoys leisurely strolls and gentle cuddles. While she's not overly exuberant, Mona is friendly, exuding a tranquil aura even to those unfamiliar to her. When presented with treats, her dark and adorable eyes light up, and she becomes highly engaged. Given her high engagement and focus, we believe she can be effectively trained using treats.

Mona is amazing in leash walking. She closely follows the handler's pace and responds well to signals to start or stop. If she's hesitant to go in a certain direction, she might stand her ground, but she isn't stubborn. In case the handler insists to continue the path, Mona eventually follows.

With such a soft and kind character, Mona has had a challenging time in the shelter, as evidenced by the stress on her teeth. In her previous environment, she resorted to pulling at the fences, resulting in worn-down teeth. Despite this, she stands still during teeth examinations, showing no signs of pain. In her younger days, she had an incident where another dog bit her tail, giving it a short, round appearance resembling a Welsh Corgi's.

For Mona's calm and peaceful nature, the noisy shelter setting is too harsh. We are looking for someone who can hold Mona's paws and bring out the beautiful smile. She would do great also with family with kids, or with other dogs as well. We imagine she will be a great companion for seniors who can provide relaxing and safe environment as well judging by Mona's kind nature and gentle soul.

If you see yourself being with Mona, please send us an adoption application. We will guide you for the process. Mona is waiting you.

Our dogs are rescued from meat farms or reported from the street and brought to our shelter. That's why we do not have information on how they behave with cats or children.

  • Cost of the adoption

YAPA does not gain any profit from the dogs' adoption. Adopters need to cover the transportation and documentation fee for the government.

  • Vaccinations and spaying

All our dogs are spayed and vaccinated by an approved vet before being sent to the adoptor. The costs of the procedures are covered by our donations.
