Skye
Skye
Everypawdy, meet Skye! This gorgeous girl is a mixed breed that arrived at the shelter as a puppy in September 2021. She was found abandoned with her siblings, one of which unfortunately passed away. However, despite her past, her sweet personality shines through as she has learned to trust those around her.
Being on the shyer and more nervous side, Skye takes a bit of time to warm up to people and the environment around her. However, once she has, her playful side shines through as she has fun exploring the area around her with people by her side. She's got quite a soft spot for boiled chicken, with eyes that sparkle extra brightly for whoever is holding it.
Here's what one of our volunteers had to say about Alfalfa:
"Meet our nervous but sweet Skye! At first, she stayed in her corner of the kennel but because she's a people person, I was able to scoop her up easily and take her out for a walk. I walked Skye maybe a year ago. She was very nervous, doing a lot of circles and so the walk was a short one. Now, walks with Skye are an adventure. She is still nervous and pulls a bit, trying to suss out the safest spots, but we took it slow, going at her pace. Sometimes it felt like watching a mini tornado of excitement and nervousness. But in no time, her tail was up, running and bravely exploring the new environment. If you watch the videos, the first couple are of her feeling unsure, running a bit in circles but you can see her feeling more confident and more comfortable as the walk went on. Despite her shyness, she's really friendly and likes people. We explored and when she felt unsure, we stopped to get in some cuddles. Oh, and treats? Skye's weakness. So, if you're down for a bit of patience and a whole lot of tail-wagging, Skye's your girl."
Skye is now looking for a forever family who can change her life for the better and give her everything she deserves. She is a cute girl who just needs a teacher to show her the world is a safe and happy place. If you would like to adopt the sweet and gentle Skye, please send us an adoption application and we’ll help you get started on the application process.
